Restaurant Program
Seafood for the Future Restaurant Partners are committed to responsible seafood sourcing. Their menus are evaluated quarterly by SFF to ensure the most up-to-date recommendations. SFF also requires copies of the most recent invoices at the time of evaluation to improve transparency and accountability. Businesses can use the California Local icon on the left next to menu items that are responsibly caught or produced in California.
Restaurants participating in Seafood for the Future’s restaurant program are required to comply with the following:
- Cooperate with an initial evaluation of all seafood served at your restaurant. Invoice review and introductions to suppliers will be required.
- Cooperate with semi-annual follow up reviews. Invoice audits and contact with suppliers will be required.
- At least 50 percent of the partner restaurant’s seafood offerings must be approved by SFF by the end of the first year.
- Work with SFF to continue to improve sourcing and transparency.
- SFF will work with partners individually to determine the level of improvement at the time of the annual partnership renewal.
- Participate in SFF educational events and initiatives.
