Mobjack specializes in hard shell clams, wild Virginia oysters, as well farm-raised oysters from their sister company, Ward Oyster. With nearly 30 million oysters currently in production, making them one of the largest aquaculture farms in the state, Ward Oyster produces their own oyster seed at the hatchery, then transfers them to cages near the mouth of the Ware River. Because of the salinity at that location, the oysters are neither too sweet nor too salty, giving them the nickname the “Goldilocks of Oysters.” Oysters are harvested multiple times to ensure each one is handled with care and the best product available. They are available throughout the year, complying with all FDA and state-approved harvesting methods.
