Tre-Fin Foods is a small commercial fishing operation based out of Ilwaco, Washington. Built from the ground up to provide tuna from catch to delivery, Tre-Fin Foods focuses on responsible production and timely distribution of same-day caught albacore tuna — tuna that’s coined “day boat tuna”.

Fish are sustainably caught using rod and line techniques acknowledged as a ‘Best Choice’ seafood option by Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program. Each fish is expeditiously fought, individually netted, and quickly bled before being chilled in a saltwater ice slurry for immediate temperature reductions. Fish are then carefully packed in salted ice where they remain until the boat returns to shore at the end of the day. When the boat reaches port, fish are immediately brought to Tre-Fin Foods HACCP facility where they are processed and repacked for delivery.

Tre-Fin Foods recognizes that consumers are increasingly concerned with where their fish come from, how they are caught and handled, and the freshness of the product. Their goal is to change the way consumers are provided their seafood, thus building their trust in knowing what they are buying. They do this by providing high-quality products and sourcing them in a way that is sustainable to their local fisheries. Tre-Fin Foods ultimate goal is to provide a transparent path to market, allowing the consumer to be knowledgeable of their foods’ origin and quality, every step of the way.
