✕Established in 2000 by third-generation Cordova fisherman Bill Webber, Paradigm Seafoods provides the highest quality wild Alaskan salmon directly from the fishermen. Webber’s 35-foot gillnetter, Paradigm Shift, fishes the famous Copper River flats, noted for its prized, high-oil content sockeyes, kings and cohos. His small-scale “harvester direct” business model connects him to buyers on a personal level through stringent quality handling procedures, standards, and onboard processing.
By keeping their fishing time to less than two hours, Webber and his crew increase the likelihood of their catch being alive when it comes on board. The fish are then live bled in a tank simulating their natural environment, headed and pressure bled, and then processed immediately onboard the boat. Two hours after each opening, headed and gutted fish are tagged and boxed, and then sent to the Cordova airport and markets in the Lower 48. Using these self-developed techniques, Paradigm Seafoods' products stay fresh longer than commercially fished salmon, looking better in death than they did in life.
