Ocean Quality North America Inc. of Burnaby, British Columbia is a primary producer of farm-raised Atlantic salmon. Established in 2011, Ocean Quality was founded with the mission of leading change in the world of farmed salmon. Under their brand name Skuna Bay, Ocean Quality’s aim is to provide the greatest chefs in North America with the highest standards for fresh salmon. Breaking new ground in quality, sustainability, packaging, transparency, brand activity and key partnerships, their Skuna Bay salmon has achieved national U.S. distribution, available in all continental U.S. states, four Canadian provinces and sixteen exclusive distributor relationships across North America.

Patiently watching and waiting for their smolt to reach an appropriate size before introducing them into ocean pens, every baby salmon is vaccinated by hand to ensure complete health before being released into the sea for their final years of life. Raising their salmon in the glacier-fed waters of Vancouver Island's Pacific Ocean, salmon are kept in low-density pens that allow them to be in constant motion, building strong, healthy tissue. In an effort to reduce pressure on other fish populations, the salmon are fed a diet of specially formulated feed that is comprised of only 25 percent fish, all sourced from certified fisheries.

Once their salmon has reached maturity, only fish selected by one of Ocean Quality’s six approved salmon experts is used for their Skuna Bay product line. A perfect Skuna Bay salmon has silver scales, red gills, a thick muscular belly, no blemishes and is always firm and thick in texture. Every Skuna Bay Salmon is measured according to a 14 point criteria ensuring that each fish is virtually perfect. Moving the fish quickly to their processor in Seymour Narrows, all Skuna Bay salmon is placed into completely recyclable corrugated cartons after processing before making its way to market, or directly to their customers.
