Founded on the desire to bring Icelandic seafood to Swiss customers, Hilma and Jon Adalsteinsson brought their dream to life and opened Ice-co Foods in 1994. Hilma and Jon were later joined by Marlise Umiker who was instrumental in growing the company. What began as a small company run out of the partners' pick-up truck, has since become a leading Icelandic seafood supplier that has expanded its reach throughout Europe and the United States, with headquarters in Iceland, Germany, and Switzerland.

Combining Swiss precision and attention to detail with the tenacity and hard work of Iceland’s fisherman has created a one-of-a-kind company whose credo is to “never fail on delivery, never fail on quality." With a sole focus on Icelandic Seafood, Ice-co offers a wide assortment of products including cod, haddock, arctic char, and more which are available at over 700 retail locations worldwide.

By continuously focusing on improvement and employee training, Ice-co has managed to provide products that are both award-winning and sustainable. While their company and several of its products are MSC-certified, Ice-co also holds certification from the Iceland Responsible Fisheries (IRF), a foundation created to promote and certify responsible fisheries management in Iceland.
