Harvest Select Catfish was founded in 1991 by five west Alabama farmers with 75 employees. Today, the company produces over 750,000 pounds of catfish weekly. Once the fish are harvested, they are immediately processed at Harvest Select's HACCP certified and USDA inspected plant, arriving to local restaurants within 50 minutes. By maintaining stringent standards, Harvest Select offers only the juiciest, highest quality catfish. They are committed to their farm-to-fork practices, ensuring customers their products are 100% traceable. By 2008, they had become the first US catfish processor to receive Best Aquaculture Certified (BAP) by the Global Aquaculture Alliance. Unlike wild bottom-feeding catfish, the fish at Harvest Select are fed floating high protein food pellets made of soybeans, corn, wheat, and vitamins and minerals. This creates a healthier fish with a cleaner. milder taste that can be easily adapted into any meal. Harvest Select also offers recipes on their website so that consumers can best enjoy their products.
