✕Flurer Smokery Ltd. was established in 2008 with a focus on supplying the true taste of gourmet fresh and smoked seafood from British Columbia's west coast to international markets. Flurer Smokery Ltd. is an Aboriginal-owned and HACCP-certified seafood export company. The company specializes in fresh, gourmet hot smoked salmon. Flurer Smokery Ltd. processes fresh, raw, and ready to eat products in several different species of seafood such as wild and farmed salmon, sablefish, tuna, trout and halibut. The company’s facility is located in Campbell River, on the east coast of Vancouver Island, 3 hours north of Victoria. The location is key to sourcing the freshest local seafood and has easy access to international shipping.
Flurer Smokery's smoked seafood recipe was developed on the west coast over many years and is very unique to the business. All Flurer Smokery’s products are hand-cut and hand-boned, checking for bones a minimum of 4 times through the process. The products are all natural with no dyes or artificial flavors. Flurer Smokery uses a dry brine of brown sugar and salt. Regulated brining time controls the salt content of the finished product which gives it a consistent finished product. The state of the art smokers are designed to filter the soot and creosote giving them a cleaner healthier smoked product. The smokers are computerized holding 20 preset programs and gives the company control of the chamber temperature, product temperature, smoke temperature and the humidity, giving them a consistent gourmet finished product. Flurer Smokery believes that its customers are looking for a high-quality product at a fair price.
