American Abalone Farms is an aquaculture business that spawns and grows California Red Abalone within the pristine waters of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The company operates a land-based facility where they use seawater pumps that continuously supply fresh seawater to various abalone growing tanks. The abalone are grown in a very natural manner with various types of seaweeds. These growing conditions create a very nice texture and flavorful abalone meat. Abalone are also one of the more nutritious seafoods available and believed to also have some medicinal value to people.
