Founded by Mara Boland in 2015, Alaskan Premium Seafoods motto and mission from the start has always been ‘Sustainability and Traceability’ and ‘Straight from the Fisherman’s Hands”. Alaska Premium Seafood, born in 2010 and relaunched in 2015, buys seafood directly from the Alaskan Fishermen's Cooperative, and other family owned vessels ensuring their catch is sustainably caught and 100% traceable.
A Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Partner, Alaska Premium Seafoods only distributes seafood from fishers that utilize sustainable fishing practices. Their Alaska caught seafood which includes sockeye salmon, pacific halibut, and pacific cod is immediate flash frozen after being processed to ensure freshness. After the fish is frozen, it is brought back to Alaska Premium Seafoods home base of Traverse City, Michigan where it is sold at markets throughout the Northern and Southwest Michigan regions.
